1966 Conn 48h Connstellation Professional Tenor Trombone

Straight from our brass (and silver) instrument repair shop, our USED horns are brought back to life…All major dents are removed, joints re-soldered (if needed), patches repaired (if necessary) and the slides reworked.  Our horns may be buffed, but all are hand polished to a good shine and are in good playable condition.  For the collector who is looking for an instrument; we try to keep the original parts whenever possible; if the playability is good, we feel it should be left to the buyer’s discretion to replace parts as desired.  We are proud to offer this refurbished instrument for sale. We have tried to describe it as it is, and have shown what we can in the pictures allowed. We are happy to answer any questions asked.  #13/2016

Up for sale is a 1966 CG Conn LTD 48H “Connstellation” Professional Tenor Trombone made in Elkhart USA. The horn has serial #H50xxx. The horn is made of nickel plate and solid brass. There are various small dings and significant scratching on the horn throughout, with heavy pitting at the grips and also on the outer slide.  The crook is not completely smooth..it was dented and has been repaired.  The slide action is good to very good; there is a flat spot on the inner slide about an inch long, but does not affect the slide action.  The stockings are very clean with no wear-through.  The horn has very good compression.  This instrument is not lacquered; therefore, this instrument may have to be polished periodically (we recommend using Weiman METAL Polish).  The slide bore is .500/.500 and the bell flare is 8″.  It comes with a mouthpiece(may not be the one pictured) and will come in a brand new gig bag. This is one of the best playing instruments in it’s class.  This horn has been heavily used and has been worked on extensively to bring it back to it’s best form.  It has very good intonation, slots well throughout the entire volume range and has fast response.  It has good power if needed, but plays softly beautifully too! I am impressed with the ‘jazz’ ability and good tone.  This horn has some appearance issues, but if you can get past that, it is a real pleasure to play. Thanks for looking and check out our other items! The name “Connstellation” is reserved for top of the line models. The instrument has a #3 bore (0.500″) and was produced
from 1956 through at least 1983. Perhaps not very obvious from this picture, the instrument is nickel plate with brass
slide and tuning slide. Just visible on the bell is the “Connstellation” engraving….This is what Conn said in 1966: The trombone used and recommended by so many top artists. Big sound with just the right “edge”. Easy to control at all
dynamic levels. Fast, dependable lightweight slide action. 8″ Electro-D bell. Nickel silver and brass trim. Bore size .500″.
Length 46ΒΌ”. Please note:  We accept returns within two weeks; Buyer pays return shipping. **Please note: if choosing FedEx for shipping, must provide physical address, not PO Box.
