1923 Cg Conn 4h Artist Model Tenor Trombone Medium Bore

Up for auction is a 1923 Conn 4H “Artist” trombone. This is a medium bore instrument. The bore size is .485. It has some small dents that shouldn’t hurt it’s play-ability at all.  There are also some scratches from use over the last 95 years. The slide moves freely but has a slight hesitation at it’s far position.Although this is a brass instrument, I believe it has a higher than normal copper content giving it a more red or rose color.  I have not attempted polish the finish, I will let the new owner decide what they want to do with it. There is no lacquer on it. It comes with a nice Conn 12C mouthpiece. The bell is 7 inches. The case appears to be original.  It is beat up but is solid and still functions as it should.  From what I can tell of the trombone, it was probably used as a band instrument in high school or college because of the name written on the inside and the markings on the case. Although I am not a trombone player, I am a brass player and the sound I get out of it is a mellow medium sound but with the ability of being loud and powerful.According to the Conn General Music Catalogue from 1926: “The
Artists’ Model Trombone is probably the most popular solo
instrument of the entire trombone family. It is generally preferred in
the small bore, but is also build in medium bore for those who desire a
broader tone.” Shipping will either be UPS or Fed Ex.
