Trombone Olds Ambassador Polished Brass, Very Nice. Good Slide Action. 1956

Nice post war horn!

Olds ” Ambassador ”   model trombone from the 1950s beautiful polished brass, NO Lacquer . A great early model in the Olds lineup (serial 21XXXX) this is a serious playing, very pretty Olds trombone from 1956 or so made in Fullerton CA.Very nice horn, and a wonderful player..Stockings are very nice. One of the first models made after the move from L.A. in 1955. I’m guessing this was mostly made in L.A. and put together in Fullerton.

These are one of The best American made instruments,Very high quality.

This example has been not been restored in the past as far as I can see, it shows some light use/wear in the brass, a small rub or scratch here and there, the brass/nickel silver is all in good shape. Looks to be a low hours bone, very tight, good compression when checked in the usual way.Horn has no dents.

Cleaned and gone through by a NAPBIRT tech. The slide was gone over by a very good trombone slide man. Very good action, smooth.

Instrument shows very little age/use evidence, retaining the qualities that make these early Olds instruments real players and such great long lasting well built horns. Very Nice example of a neat, fun model from that early era, really nice design, they started making these in the 1940s .

The original factory engraving is in GOOD shape. Horn looks better in the hand than in these photos.

These horns feel solid, very pro in the hand, this one shows very nice, NO dents or dings, it does NOT look the the age it is.

This instrument has not been restored by me, it has been cleaned, hand polished, and checked for slide function and alignment, water key cork is the newer foam type. It is offered in this serviced/original condition.

The slides look great and are wicked fast & smooth and this instrument plays very well, has very good compression, stockings show no use/wear. Instrument plays like a new horn. It is a serious fun to play trombone from a great early era of the Olds company. Every piece of this horn has been carefully cleaned/polished. This one is a really a big time player. If you have an offer in mind please make contact. I give this one a 9 out of 10 for looks AND for play, nice tight solid playing bone, comes in an original Olds case which is in fair to good condition. NO mouthpiece offered or included, if you need or want one contact me at auction end. This is an attractive, great playing Olds from the mid1950s era.  Please see our feedback regarding instruments we offer.
